Transfer Tax Still in Budget

The land transfer tax option is still in the North Carolina State Budget deal after House and Senate caucus meetings yesterday and despite the best attempts of the Realtor and Homebuilder lobbyists to derail it. The bill is currently being printed with an expectation that it will be read and voted on Saturday with a final vote in the early hours of Sunday. Mark Binker's Capital Beat and Laura Leslie's Isaac Hunter's Tavern have been producing the most timely after hours reports in their blogs which supplement their primary media, print and radio.
